Quadriplegic since a 1983 sports accident, Adam Lloyd has maintained an extremely active life in the academic, business, and writing fields.

He holds a B.A. in philosophy from the University of California at San Diego, an M.A. in philosophy from the Catholic University of America, an M.A. in national security studies from Georgetown University, and is currently completing an M.A. in English at Georgetown.

Recognizing a severely under served market in disability related travel services, Lloyd began his journalistic career writing about these issues on a freelance basis for Public Radio International's Savvy Traveler, British Airway's High Life magazine and Abilities magazine. Ultimately, he founded the disability travel web site, GimpontheGo.com, in 1999.

Since that time, Lloyd has broadened the scope of his freelance writing to include non-disability features on dining, travel, cigars, business, music, gambling, and has become a frequent guest on KLAC radio's Travel Show. Lloyd is a member of Washington Independent Writers and the North American Travel Journalists Association.

Lloyd's interests include travel, live music, premium cigars, reading historical fiction, poker, baseball, and debating politics. Some of his favorite destinations are Costa Rica, Germany, Las Vegas, New York, and the Caribbean.

Lloyd is also the founder and CEO of GradFree.com, the world's first student loan gift registry.
